We were approached by Spin.com while waiting to get into the sold-out LCD Soundsystem show Friday night. I guess we just looked the right amount of bored and stylish for them to pick us out of the crowd. We tried to look apathetic and cool for the pictures, but unfortunately we were giddy as hell and couldn’t wipe those stupid smirks off our faces as we posed.

It looks like we were internet celebrities for a hot minute. This beats the time we were featured in a Gawker article.

By the way, in case anybody’s wondering, the show was freaking awesome.

There’s an old abandoned train station underneath City Hall. I’m sure many of you have heard of it, I’m sure some of you have tried to get into it, and the rest of you probably don’t give a rat’s ass. Well, to those of you who’ve always been curious but not daring enough to run through the 50 yards of dark tunnel with a speeding 6 train nipping at your heels, rejoice! The MTA has confirmed that it is now legal/okay to stay on the train past the last stop and loop around through the old and beautiful station.

Where they once said, “this is the last stop on this train, everyone please leave the train,” they are being reprogrammed to say, “this is the last downtown stop on this train,” and “the next stop on this train will be Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall on the uptown platform.”

Transit officials confirm riders are allowed to stay onboard, as long as they do not ride between the cars.

Huzzah! I’m going to have to check this out next time I’m on a 6 train.

This show trumps the show I went to on Thursday big time. I am so glad that I was able to go twice. If you’ve never seen Arcade Fire live you have a chance to catch them in May. They will return to NYC for 3 shows and my recommendation would be to go to the last show.

I was checking out NPR’s coverage of the concert and I found a slideshow. I was pretty close to the band during Wake Up so I decided to see if I was in one of the pictures. Here I am behind Regine with camera in hand recording the video posted above!

There are other resources for finding your subway around the city. (har!) On NY Turf and trips123.com are two that I used to use frequently.

Now back to finding a good pet store in SoHo.

Update: Google Maps doesn’t show ALL the locations of the subway stations. For example the A,B,C,D,E,F,V stop at West 4th street also has an entrance around 6th-7th street (can’t remember exactly) but it is not shown. I guess they just arbitrarily choose one end of the station to map.

If you thought New York City subways were dirty wait till you get a look at these. The worst that I’ve seen smelled in my daily commute are homeless dudes sleeping across the seats and occasionally some dude carrying his whole life in a garbage bag. This photo is from a subway car in Moscow, Russia. WTF, “Hey lady! The dude next to you has a huge freaking gun!”. I wonder what she’s reading.

According to the Travel Channel, Moscow’s subway system is the best in the world. The pictures over at English Russia make me think otherwise. One day I will travel the world, ride the subways on that list and come up with my own ranking. One day…..

Schumer also claims that in case there is a fire at the United Nations, the driveway outside (which is over an underground parking lot) would collapse from the weght of all the fire engines. It looks like the UN is just an overall death trap.

It doesn’t help that the UN Secretariat building is the only building in New York City where you can smoke indoors. I hate walking through the dense cloud of smoke surrounding the Venetian café. All I know is, this friendly neighborhood UN employee is hauling ass the second I smell smoke.
