We’ve finally heard back from our sources close to Apple and they have disclosed top-level confidential information to us. The top secret information was smuggled to us by our Cupertino moles on a blood-stained napkin, right before they passed out from blood loss and internal injuries. And here it is, straight from the horse’s mouth, just for you Mac fanboys:

Contrary to the slew of rumors that Apple has the Merom equipped MacBook (Pros) just waiting in the wings to be released to the anxious, drooling, would-be switchers, Apple is completely foregoing the Merom processors in favor of the Santa Rosa platform. They are doing this for three reasons: everybody else and their mothers already have released Meroms; doing so now would only make them look like copycats (and we all know Apple doesn’t copy anything). Reason #2? Meroms aren’t that big an improvement over the Core Duos. Frankly, the Merom processor just isn’t revolutionary enough for Apple to waste their time on. And lastly, the ever-consumer-conscious Apple doesn’t want Intel early-adopters to feel bad that their Macbook (Pros) are missing that oh-so-sexy deuce.

The Santa Rosa MacBooks will be released at MacWorld San Francisco 2007. They will have a new form factor as well as a plethora of sexy new features. Unfortunately, the features listed on our list were smudged from sweat and blood stains. The only legible features? The MacBooks will ship with Leopard pre-installed and they will contain NAND solid state hard drives.

Now we all know blood-stained napkins can be forged. Therefore, we went straight to our top industry analysts to confirm the information. After making us swear on our big left toes never to reveal the true identities of “top industry analysts,” they whispered in our ears that these claims are, indeed, fact. Then they disappeared in a puff of smoke, smelling suspiciously of sulfur. Unfortunately, our blood-stained napkin ignited in the sulphorous cloud, and we were unable to snap any shots of it for you.

I guess you’ll just have to take our word for it.

I saw this picture today on Gizmodo. It’s an ad for Steelcube’s Tilevision: a “totally waterproof” LCD TV based on LG-Philips’ TFT technology. Hooray! A totally waterproof television for your bathroom. Ok. I’ll be honest, I really don’t care about the TV. I wanted to review the bathroom. I added handy labels to help you follow along:

The first thing I noticed when I saw this picture is that it has a bidet. That’s awesome. Every bathroom should have a plumbing fixture that shoots jets of water up your ass. Just keep small children who may think it’s a water fountain away.

Towel Rack. What’s it doing all the way over here? If I’m taking a bath in the tub, where the hell am I supposed to put my towel? There’s no way I’m walking dripping wet to that towel rack a continent away. It’s even too far from the sink. The towel rack by the sink should be immediately accessible (i.e. I should be able to comfortably reach out and touch my towel). This towel rack requires like 2 extra steps.

Giant empty tile space. All I can think when I see this unforgiving wasteland is Brrrrr! Just imagine trekking across all that freezing tile in the middle of the night! Put down a damn rug!

Ok. Perhaps the perspective of the picture is a little wacky, but that tub looks way too small for an adult. And what’s with the toilet blue water? Is the bath water really that nasty? Also, I’m not sure if that’s steam or jets of water shooting out. Either way, that tub is way too small to act as a Jacuzzi. I must admit, however, that the pillow and the removable shower head are nice touches.

Oh right. This is an ad for a TV. Let’s put it all the way to the side of the picture and make it super small. That’ll sell our product!

Thank you for listening. I should be an interior designer.

Screw the smell-tone. The wave of the future of ringtones are zaptones. Unsatisfied with vibration as a “silent” alert for incoming phone calls (as they sometimes make a slight buzzing sound), Motorola has patented a new way of letting you know you’re getting a call: a slight electric shock.

The system, not unlike the massage and weight loss systems currently available on the market today, uses a small pad containing electrodes that are wirelessly linked to a handset. When an event occurs on the handset, an electric potential is placed across the electrodes, stimulating the skin and underling muscles, thus alerting the wearer.

Now, I understand that sending a small electrical impulse into your body may not make a sound. But what about when the user yelps and screams because his phone just electrocuted him? That might be a tad awkward in a business setting. Just a tad.

We’re pretty sure this is a joke but it’s funny enough to warrant a post. :D

Dr. Amir Khadim, M.D., Ph.D., a “pioneer in the field of LASIK surgery,” has developed a new product/company called LASIK@Home. Instead of paying about $1000 per eye to have a skilled professional in a doctor’s office perform this surgery on your eyes (which aren’t really that important if you really think about it), you and your clutzy self can do it from the comfort of your very own (roach-infested) home. Sounds like a winner to me!

Seeing as how your average American can’t get his <strike>VCR</strike> DVD player to stop blinking 12:00, I don’t see how they can be expected to perform such delicate surgery on themselves. Lawsuits anyone?
