We’ve finally heard back from our sources close to Apple and they have disclosed top-level confidential information to us. The top secret information was smuggled to us by our Cupertino moles on a blood-stained napkin, right before they passed out from blood loss and internal injuries. And here it is, straight from the horse’s mouth, just for you Mac fanboys:

Contrary to the slew of rumors that Apple has the Merom equipped MacBook (Pros) just waiting in the wings to be released to the anxious, drooling, would-be switchers, Apple is completely foregoing the Merom processors in favor of the Santa Rosa platform. They are doing this for three reasons: everybody else and their mothers already have released Meroms; doing so now would only make them look like copycats (and we all know Apple doesn’t copy anything). Reason #2? Meroms aren’t that big an improvement over the Core Duos. Frankly, the Merom processor just isn’t revolutionary enough for Apple to waste their time on. And lastly, the ever-consumer-conscious Apple doesn’t want Intel early-adopters to feel bad that their Macbook (Pros) are missing that oh-so-sexy deuce.

The Santa Rosa MacBooks will be released at MacWorld San Francisco 2007. They will have a new form factor as well as a plethora of sexy new features. Unfortunately, the features listed on our list were smudged from sweat and blood stains. The only legible features? The MacBooks will ship with Leopard pre-installed and they will contain NAND solid state hard drives.

Now we all know blood-stained napkins can be forged. Therefore, we went straight to our top industry analysts to confirm the information. After making us swear on our big left toes never to reveal the true identities of “top industry analysts,” they whispered in our ears that these claims are, indeed, fact. Then they disappeared in a puff of smoke, smelling suspiciously of sulfur. Unfortunately, our blood-stained napkin ignited in the sulphorous cloud, and we were unable to snap any shots of it for you.

I guess you’ll just have to take our word for it.

There were a whopping 572 unread articles. Lucky for you, I’ve waded through all of them and brought you only the most interesting articles. So please excuse this (not so) short entry. And to kick it off, here’s a heart-breaking picture of Andre Agassi:

That just breaks my heart. With 60 titles under his belt, Agassi walks off the court after his last professional match amidst a champion’s ovation.

Google got it in it’s head that it wants to improve its Google Images search. Rather than pore over the millions of indexed photos by themselves, they elicit the help of the unwashed masses. But how to get the public to do your work for you? Turn it into a game!

Cherry picking at it’s finest. If you don’t know what cherry picking means, you’re probably a girl.

The perfect iTunes equalizer setting? That’s up to my ears to decide! Even though a perfect setting cannot exist, this setting does sound pretty damn good.

Hack a coke machine. Get a free coke. Lather, rinse repeat.

A guy plays Mozart’s 40th symphony with rollerblades and half-filled glass coke bottles. I bet Mozart never thought of that.

99 wolves crash into a wall, 99 wolves crash… Ok. So the song doesn’t work with wolves crashing into a wall. But this art installation of 99 wolves crashing into a glass wall surprisingly… does.

This is an ice cream / chocolate place I will definitely need to check out. Remind me!

Harry Potter fans discover a continuity error that will be fixed in the next edition–illustrating that they have no lives. No news there.

iTunes to have movie downloads for $14.99 this month. I think that’s stupid. I wouldn’t pay $14.99 for iTunes-resolution video. That also better not be the only Apple news announced on September 12. I want those freakin’ Meroms in the MacBooks.

Who said squirrels are scary, feral vermin? They need love too.

The prettiest subway station in the city? Yeah, I wasn’t expecting much either. But I was proved wrong.

Missing Munch paintings discovered! Now we can all enjoy the Scream again! Ahhhhh! I scream for Munch’s Scream! Ok, I’ll stop. Sorry.

McDonald’s, being the ever-responsible-corporate-entity that they are has redesigned their McFlurry cups so that hedgehogs can’t get their heads stuck in them anymore. Who knew that was a problem? I can’t wait until McDonald’s makes their cups so small that humans can’t get obese from them anymore. HA!

Morgan Library: another place I need to check out. And judging from this picture, a place I may want to spend a lot of time in.

Diddy has to pee. Let’s watch Diddy pee. Let’s hear what Diddy has to say about pee. Let’s slap a reality show together about it and put it on MTV.

Wikipedia has a massive 14 megapixel shot of San Francisco in ruins after the 1906 earthquake. And this was before digital imagery. It’s simply… breathtaking.

Do you remember this commercial? I swear, it brings me back to my living room all those years ago as a wee little lad…

That’s all folks (thank God). I’m spent.

This post brought to you by the Number 13 and the symbols eo&rg. Thank you.

The Green Electronic scorecards are in. And it’s time for all you Apple owning hippies to turn in your tree hugger membership cards. Yup, your hemp made cards will be collectively burned (a controlled natural fire of course) because you thought you were cool and different for owning an Apple. Little did you know, you were slowly posioning little chipmunks and mutating platypuses when you were browsing the web on your macbook for a list of acceptable vegan ingrediants for some yummy brownies. That’s right. Your Apple is far from green.

Greenpeace just released their Green Electronics Guide that rank mobile and PC (and Mac) makers on “their global policies and practice on eliminating harmful chemicals and on taking responsibility for their products once they are discarded by consumers.” Apple ranked 11 out of 14 companies. Rank number 1? Dell. With a score of 7. (Tied with Nokia). To compare, Apple scored an impressive 2.7, receiving the lowest marks in most categories.

While I’ve heard the cries for Apple to improve their products enviromentally, I’m quite surprised by their ranking compared to other companies. Apple is supposed to be the leader of innovation and that kind of stuff. The kind of stuff that makes the world happy. Apparently not. It makes the world feel emo at most. But wait. Apple loves the emos. It all makes sense now.

Anyways, it’s great that a number of companies are making conscious efforts to minimize their impact on the environment, but the bottom line is that they all have a lot of room for improvements.

This PC vs Mac ad crap is getting out of hand. It was funny for the first couple of times I saw them, but then it got old quick. I’m a Mac user and I find it quite elitist which is quite…umm…elitist. I can’t imagine how those hardcore PC fanatics take them. Anyways, lately these commercials have been getting a bit of press.

The LATimes recently interviewed Justin Long which touched a bit on his Mac role. He states that he’s wary about people mostly recognizing him from the commercials rather than his other roles like in the TV show Ed (which i loved) or the movie Dodgeball (which i loved). Like people running into him in the streets and getting pissed at him. I gotta say, lets hope he doesnt go down the same path as the Dell Dude. But I have faith in him. He is semitalented.

As for John Hodgman, the PC guy, he’s in now in my book of cool guys. Funny guy. I’m sure he’s getting good press from it. Kinda like playing the role of the underdog.

And then there are the spoofs flooding in. Because it’s “funny”. Except 90.7% of them aren’t. Though, I’ve gotta admit, some are worth mentioning. Here’s a halo version. and here’s a wii vs ps3 one (semi-nws).

In conclusion…lets hope this internet fad fizzles sooner than later. For everyone’s sake. And before it makes me switch back to PCs.

It’s only a week away (August 7th) and there are going to be big announcements as usual. I myself am in need of a new Mac so I shall be eagerly anticipating some new stuff. So I give you the spectacular “Dennis’ Spectacular Apple Predictions!!!: WWDC Edition”. Note: My predictions are just predictions, so I predict my predictions will be mostly wrong. Hence predictions.

Definites:

The next OS X, Leopard preview. Already announced.

Mac Pro, the next PowerMac generation, to complete the Intel transition. Rumored to have the new wonderful Woodcrest.

New displays. with iSights? Seems logical with the release of the Mac Pro.

Something to surprise the world!!

Maybes:

Macbook Pro Merom upgrades.

iMac Conroe upgrades.

What I want to see (and probably won’t see)

Macbook Merom upgrades. I wish. I want!

iPod Upgrades. While they are due for an upgrade, they traditionally aren’t shown at WWDC. I need a new iPod. Stupid batteries.

A plain ol’ “Mac”. Like a headless iMac. Something between a Mac mini and Mac Pro. I’d totally get one of those! Or a lower end Mac Pro.

iToaster. The first of many Apple kitchen appliances.
