Happy Birthday oldest man alive!

Happy Birthday Emilliano Mercado Del Toro! The Guinness Book of World Records’ oldest man celebrated his 115th birthday this week in Puerto Rico.

Emiliano Mercado del Toro, who was a boy when the United States seized Puerto Rico from Spain in 1898, attributed his long life to a healthy diet and avoiding alcohol.

“I never damaged my body with liquor,” said Mercado, who quit a 76-year smoking habit when he was 90.

No word on how many drugs he did or did not do, but we’re guessing he didn’t inhale.

I was thinking of quiting smoking but reading this makes me feel that if i find it hard i dont need to worry as this man didnt quit until he was 90 and is now still alive after 76 years of smoking.

David….i suggest you quit now than later…currently my mom-in law has Lung cancer and she can die anytime.quit now…….for your family’s sake!!!

That last comment regarding how many drugs he did or didn’t do is totally unnecessary and very insulting. If this was your father or grandfather you would be offended by that last statement. Why would you even say such a thing? Because he is Hispanic and its in his blood? To the person who wrote this article, I am bothered by it and I think it should be removed. Maybe some day you’ll live to be 115 years old and some idiot would have nothing more interesting to ask you but how many drugs you did in your past time. Life what a waste!
