Britney Statue (another view)
So by now I’m sure you’ve all seen the picture to the left. If you haven’t, here’s the story: a statue of a nude Britney Spears on a bearskin rug while giving birth to her firstborn is on display at Capla Kesting Fine Art in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is touted as the first Pro-Life monument to birth. No, Britney did not pose for this sculpture. The artist used references including wax figures of Britney to put the sculpture together.
“Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston,” believed Pro-Life’s first monument to the ‘act of giving birth,’ is purportedly an idealized depiction of Britney in delivery. Natural aspects of Spears’ pregnancy, like lactiferous breasts and protruding naval, compliment a posterior view that depicts widened hips for birthing and reveals the crowning of baby Sean’s head.
Now, all the pictures of this statue on the internet have all been frontal or 1/4 frontal views. I’ve even seen a side view of the famed pop star. But where are the pictures of this alleged “crowning of baby Sean’s head”? Photographer Justin Farrow attended last night’s gallery opening in Williamsburg and sent Gawker a reverse-angle shot of the crowning Sean.
Ok. So where’s the picture you ask? It’s a little graphic so put your hands over the childrens’ eyes. Click on the image above to view a little slideshow. It’s the last of four pictures. The first three are just there to prepare you for the carnage. Click on if you dare.
Remember, I warned you.
