Ocean’s 42

In a daring and innovative move, Warner Brothers is making yet another sequel in yet another movie franchise they’ve already killed with a previous sequel. The Matrix Trilogy anyone? The Back to the Future Trilogy? Groan.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, sexy Brad Pitt and distinguished George Clooney will once again grace the big screen together in Ocean’s 13.  Now, come on, that doesn’t even make sense. Ocean’s THIRTEEN?!? See, now Ocean’s 11 made sense: there were eleven people in the crew, and it was a remake of a 1960 movie of the same name. Then Ocean’s 12 came along. Someone please refresh my memory, because I don’t remember another person being added on to the crew. Did Julia Roberts count as a member of the crew this time? Perhaps. Fine, we’ll give that to you. But Ocean’s 13?! Are they going to add yet another crew member just so their “clever” marketing gimmicks work?

I wonder what’s going to happen when it comes time for Ocean’s 42. They’ll have to spend the whole movie just introducing us to each member of the crew.
