Smell-tones on their way?

If you thought Crazy Frog ringtones were the most obnoxious way to be alerted of other people’s phone calls, think again. Samsung has developed a new technology that releases smells to alert a user to an incoming call. It seems they’re having a little too much fun over there at Samsung’s R&D. According to the patent application, the user will be able adjust the type or amount of perfume sprayed.

How lovely. How long until it takes someone to engineer up the ultimate fart ringtone? A fart sound coupled with a sulphorous scent. Adolescents the world over rejoice.
